Watchmen DVD is out!

I had been waiting for quite some time to get a copy of this. The movie just rocks and so does the original graphic novel. But the movie had Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre and added...ummm..substance? LoL. Don't act like you guys don't know what I'm talking about.
Silk Spectre: Do you remember my costume? All that tight latex, I mean it was awful."
Nite Owl: "Yeah, yeah, awful."

Marvel Anime : Wolverine & Iron Man

I just found out about these two trailers. I'm not entirely sure the purpose of these new animations. Is it to grab the vast Anime fans out there? I have a feeling that's the direction. The first clip is the Marvel Anime: Wolverine. I just kept quiet throughout the whole clip. Disappointment is an understatement. I do watch Anime from time to time. I even enjoyed watching Batman: Gotham Knight. But this Wolverine Anime made me cringe.

The next clip is the Marvel Anime: Iron Man. I'm curious how this will turn out. So far it looks far better and promising than the Wolverine clip. But Iron Man has the mask on.

I mean...what if he takes off the mask and Stark has spikey hair or even worse a mullet?

W.A.R. # 39 : Marvel Select, Thor

Another excellent figure from Diamond Select Toys. The Thunderer is portrayed in a new costume. A version sculpted from the design of artist Olivier Coipel.

Detail/Sculpt
Roughly 7" tall, this Asgardian is nicely sculpted from head to toe. At first I had doubts if they could pull off Thor with a new costume simply because we are so accustomed to his normal black and blue-ish. I must admit this new look is starting to grow on me.
Head
Goldilocks has a non-removable helmet which I hope future figures will have the opposite.
Body
Cape
Details on the cape is very nice. The 'flow' and folds are nicely done.
Mjolnir
Base
The base looks like stone and part of a tower(It's better than nothing I guess)
One for the books
Juggernaut: "Rise!!!"
Thor: "Nay, and you still owe me $20"

DC Direct : Hush, Huntress

Honestly, I think this was just an excuse for the artist to draw something that would not only look hot on the comic pages but also as an action figure. Either way, I'm not complaining. The Superhero/belly dancer works for me. LoL.

Reminiscing the 'Civil War'

I've been reading Marvel's Civil War again. It's just one of those random days that I decided to read a 7 issue comic with some ridiculous 80+ tie-ins. But I just read the main books. Its much more sensible. For those unfamiliar with the events in the Civil War, here's the main story:

'A superhuman 'exploded' in a small town killing a few hundred people. To make matters worse, this included a school full of little children. The U.S. government decided to take action and pass the bill on the Superhuman Registration Act. This Act states that all superhumans must register their identities and work for the government.

On one corner, in support of the new Act is Iron Man. Opposing on the other corner you have Captain America...'

I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this series. Though it came out in 2006-2007 I'm sure you'll find a way of 'picking' up a copy (Kal El: Back away slowly and deny everything!). Overall , the storyline is similar to what have been written over the years but this has a certain twist because those who register with the government are actually recruited into the system. I must warn you though, if you're planning to read the WHOLE thing you will encounter repetitive storyline as the tie-ins shows the story from other character's point of view of the same thing. Otherwise you're in for a treat for some excellent writing, discussion of political views and huge superhero battles.

"Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, War. He is the only one that gathers his brethren about him and goes forth in cold blood... to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out... and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel... And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for "the universal brotherhood of man" -- with his mouth." - Captain America to Iron Man when he surrendered. The quote was taken from Mark Twain. Some deep literacy s**t rite?

DC Direct : Hush, Stealth Jumper Batman

This figure is based on the very, very cool Batman: Hush comics. It is based on the art design of the talented Jim Lee. The sculpt and details for the Hush series is simply the best out there.
Hush Series 3: Stealth Jumper Batman
Good for jumping from high altitudes and I guess nowadays, against H1N1.

W.A.R. # 38 : Star Wars, ARC-170 Starfighter

This is one of the vehicles I got for my birthday from my significant other. One of my current favourite starfighters from the Clone Wars Series. It just reminds me of one of those planes you would see in W.W. II movies.

This thing is big, mean and meant to scare the Separatist just by entering their airspace. It lives up to its name as an Aggressive ReConnaissance vehicle. The overall sculpt is impressive. No changes from the previous versions except for the decals on the side.

Features
Custom Decals based on the 2008 Clone Wars Series
Retractable Landing Gear
Swing-Down Handle
Photon Torpedoes
Firing Wing Cannons
Opening Wings
Fits 3 troopers and One Astromech Droid

Pricing
Currently selling for AUD 99 at Toys R' Us, though occasionally they'd do a sale for AUD 60. Online this version is available from Amazon. Otherwise, Entertainment Earth has the new version, the Shadow ARC-170. Don't you just love hearing that? As if it doesn't sound mean enough they've added "Shadow" just in case. The new version has a different color scheme and is based on the early designs of the Galactic Empire.

Overall this is one sweet Starfighter with a capital "S". Don't you agree?
