W.A.R. # 41 : Star Wars, Anakin Skywalker's Modified Jedi Starfighter

That's one long title for a blog post don'tcha think so? But it's what the box says. From making droids to tricking out his ride, Anakin Skywalker should have had his own "Pimp my Starfighter" show on Tatooine TV.

When I decided to take pics for this review the weather was sunny and warm so I decided to have a 'photo session' outdoors.
The body for this Starfighter is taken from the Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor. If you went "The Delta-what now?", it's alright 'cos I did the same. I'm a Star Wars Fan but I'm not really into the technical details. If you are, you can find more info regarding this vehicle and other stuff at the Star Wars Wikia page.

Pricing
I haven't seen this for quite some time at the shops but I'm sure you can find it online. The thing with Star Wars figures and vehicles are that there will ALWAYS be a repack if you wait long enough. I bought it for AUD 40 at Big W.

This is definitely a keeper. Having the normal version of this vehicle is alright but having a tricked out version is like having a Porsche on steroids. It's a shame this vehicle was mostly featured in the Clone Wars 2003 animated version. Which was also sadly destroyed by Asajj Ventress. At the same time, this vehicle is a repack of the 2003 version.

Snowtrooper, the early years...

I have really been enjoying the current Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network. Not only we get a new storyline or should I say more pieces of the puzzle to the Clone Wars era.
In episode 15: Trespass, I was in awe at the clone trooper armour. A look into the evolution of the Snowtrooper and it was super duper cool(no pun intended).

A screen capture from that episode. A scene between Captain Rex and Anakin Skywalker.

Please, please, please make an action figure of this soon. It's just a crime not to. I already think the figures of Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress are the best so far for the C.W. series. This figure(if they decide to make it) would definitely be a keeper.
I can't wait for what they come up with next.

A.R.Ms # 24: Star Wars, Clone Wars, Part 1

From the Star Wars, Animated Cone Wars 2008 movie we got to see one of several new characters introduced. Out of the planet Shili, a Togruta by the name of Ahsoka Tano became the padawan of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker.

The Clone Wars 2008 figures are relatively better than the Clone Wars that came out in 2003 . What I like when it comes to these figures are that it's spot on when it comes to the sculpt and details.

First off is Ahsoka Tano. A new sculpt and very good in details. Definitely, on of my favorites in the Clone Wars Animated figures. The white pigmentation pattern on her face was nicely done. I didn't see any sloppy paint work(if they are it's very minor). Another thing to note is that despite the fact that her figure is petite, the amount of articulation they put in is very generous. In addition, she also gets a backpack with Rotta "Stinky" the Hut.

Anakin Skywalker. I can't complain too much about this figure. In terms of the outfit I like that the lower part of him shirt/garment is made of soft rubber and not those stiff types they used in the past figures.

They made a right decision in giving Obi-Wan a clone armor outfit. Similar to how they portrayed him in the 2003 C.W. This time around he comes with a jet-pack and helmet.

It's obvious these figures were targeted for the younger generation. By 'younger' I mean kids who take out the figures from the packaging and actually play with it. Hence the so-called additional "force powers" or firing jet-pack. Yet it still doesn't explain why they chose not to give Anakin and Obi-Wan articulated knee and ankle joints. *sigh*.

Pricing

These are current figures and widely available in the stores. Prices range from USD 9 to 15. I'm not sure if these figures are available in Brunei. So, to Bruneian readers if you have any info on this we'd like to hear from you.

The Clone Wars Animated series is now showing in the States and U.K. I'm still waiting for it to be aired in OZ.

Till next time. Keep collecting guys & gals.

A.R.Ms # 19: Star Wars, Clone Army Pt. 1

The Clone Army of the Galactic Republic. In Episode III, Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars fan had a good look at the different variations in the Clone Army. Most notably the different colors in their armor to signify different divisions.

Amongst the many shown, none were more infamous as the 501st Legion. The 501st Legion are a legion of elite clone troopers commissioned by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine during the clone wars. They were also under the command of General Anakin Skywalker. They were recognised by the blue color on their armor.

Towards the end of the Clone Wars, a group of 501st Legion were transferred to Coruscant, home to the Jedi Order. Together with Anakin, then Darth Vader, they marched into the Jedi Temple and eliminated all the Jedi inside. Not even the younglings were spared. Order 66 was complete.

When the Republic was formed into the Galactic Empire, the 501st were given new armor and became Stormtroopers. Some say the Stormtroopers assigned to Darth Vader were all from the 501st and the only clones left. The rest of the clones in the other divisions either retired or were replaced. It was during their time as Stormtroopers the 501st was also known as Vader's Fist.

The fun thing about collecting clone troopers is the variation that you get. Plus, having one Clone Commander and one Clone trooper doesn't really look cool on the shelves. The 501st is also available in phase I armor. This is the armor you'd see in the recent Clone Wars Animated movie and series. So far the only available of the 501st is Clone Captain Rex and a 501st trooper.

I haven't decided if I want to start collecting a Clone Army based on the Animation yet. We'll see how it goes.

Next week in A.R.Ms, a very, very, very not so good visitor is in town.

A.R.Ms # 12: Star Wars, Order 66

In Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker turned to the darkside and became Darth Vader. His first order was to eliminate all the Jedi residing in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Not a single Jedi was spared, not even the younglings.

Assisted by his own elite 501st Legion led by Commander Appo, Order 66 was implemented. Hasbro released a special Order 66, 2 figures in a pack line. It came out in 2 waves consisting of 6 packs per wave.

This is number 5 of 6 from the first wave. It consist of Anakin Skywalker and an Airborne Trooper.
