A.R.Ms # 22: Marvel Legends, Psylocke

Hi everyone!! A new year and new beginnings. We continue 2009 with a new session of A.R.Ms with a review which I've been holding off for quite some time. This figure came out in 2006 from Toybiz. It was part of the "build a figure" series and this one was build your own Mojo.

Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock is one of the few comic characters in the Marvel world to be drawn 'bad'. Her, Emma Frost and recently Ms. Marvel. I'm not surprise if they are readers out there who buys the comics only the see the latest images of these ladies. It's like they are the FHM girls of Marvel. Sweet!!

Betsy Braddock or her codename Psylocke has a long history which started in the U.K. Her twin brother is the superhuman Captain Britain. Her affiliations as a superhero has somewhat been unintentional with certain exceptions. Being a team member of Captain Britain Corps, X-Men, S.T.R.I.K.E and Hellfire Club to name a few.

Her trademark weapon is her psychic knife though now it has evolved into a more deadlier telekinetic katana.

Detail/Sculpt

The overall detail is great. You can pose her in a numerous imaginable ways(don't go there please).

There is a 'but' as always(excuse the pun, I'm not referring to the pic below). 3 words. Paintwork, paintwork, paintwork! This is where DC Direct figures wins over Hasbro or Toybiz. I wouldn't use the word 'careless' to describe the paint on this figure. More of 'sloppy' intsead. You can see blue smear from her outfit on her body(although in real life that wouldn't be that bad...*poof*). This is usually the case between Marvel & DC figures. DC always have the better sculpt and paintwork but Marvel have better articulated figures.

Luckily once you see the sculpt of the face, all the faults doesn't seem that bad. They did a very decent job with the face and the hair. It kinda shows her to be soft and kick ass at the same time.
