A.R.Ms # 24: Star Wars, Clone Wars, Part 1

From the Star Wars, Animated Cone Wars 2008 movie we got to see one of several new characters introduced. Out of the planet Shili, a Togruta by the name of Ahsoka Tano became the padawan of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker.

The Clone Wars 2008 figures are relatively better than the Clone Wars that came out in 2003 . What I like when it comes to these figures are that it's spot on when it comes to the sculpt and details.

Detail/Sculpt

First off is Ahsoka Tano. A new sculpt and very good in details. Definitely, on of my favorites in the Clone Wars Animated figures. The white pigmentation pattern on her face was nicely done. I didn't see any sloppy paint work(if they are it's very minor). Another thing to note is that despite the fact that her figure is petite, the amount of articulation they put in is very generous. In addition, she also gets a backpack with Rotta "Stinky" the Hut.

Anakin Skywalker. I can't complain too much about this figure. In terms of the outfit I like that the lower part of him shirt/garment is made of soft rubber and not those stiff types they used in the past figures.

They made a right decision in giving Obi-Wan a clone armor outfit. Similar to how they portrayed him in the 2003 C.W. This time around he comes with a jet-pack and helmet.

Articulation

It's obvious these figures were targeted for the younger generation. By 'younger' I mean kids who take out the figures from the packaging and actually play with it. Hence the so-called additional "force powers" or firing jet-pack. Yet it still doesn't explain why they chose not to give Anakin and Obi-Wan articulated knee and ankle joints. *sigh*.

Pricing

These are current figures and widely available in the stores. Prices range from USD 9 to 15. I'm not sure if these figures are available in Brunei. So, to Bruneian readers if you have any info on this we'd like to hear from you.

The Clone Wars Animated series is now showing in the States and U.K. I'm still waiting for it to be aired in OZ.

Till next time. Keep collecting guys & gals.
